I do not think we should increase the size of the magazine just because we had more artciles last time.
1. We do not know what the topic will be yet;
2. The increase in the amount of articles does not mean the increase of the quality;
3. How higher the expenses will be? What are the expenses now? I see that in the EMAnate Magazine Team report 2008-2009 (page 9, section 8.4) placed on the Magazine page of the EMA website there is a phrase that editing should be more consistent and that "EMA Magazine Team should play a more active role to facilitate this", I think a group of the native speakers should be created if these native speakers will agree, or the Magazine Team could be more involved with editing of the texts. I see in the budget section from the report mentioned above: 1200 euroes were spent on editing of the texts. I guess this money was allocated to the editors in Germany. I wonder if there is any way to reduce this sum of money and still have the editors from the service provider check our texts ensuring that we do some of the editing ourselves. Please correct me if I am wrong in my discussion about the budget. I remember that there was a talk about finding more options for funding, however I thought we could reduce spending first.
4. What is the perception of the current magazine? I know it has not been published yet, however possibly the service provider could have mentioned some information already. What will be the way of evaluating the quality of the issue Conflicts (latest issue)? Will it be in a form of a questionnaire etc.
5. Will it be possible to decide about the amount of pages once we know what the topic of the next issue is, what was the reaction to the current issue, and preferrably when we know how many articles we have.
6. By saving the money on the issues of the magazine (taking care of the editing and not increasing the number of pages), we can possibly allocate more money for the face to face team meetings. As far as I remember the budget for the meetings was cut. This is just a suggestion.
Thank you.
